I'm going to spend a few minutes updating you on our broadband internet progress. Indiana Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch announced that Tippecanoe County will receive $127,075 in grant funding to enable three public WiFi hotspots. The grant is a joint effort by the Tippecanoe County Commissioners, Tippecanoe School Corporation, and Wintek powered by Tipmont.
After winter weather and material delays slowed construction in January and February, we’re delighted to report that we’re back to building at full speed. We’ve completed construction on 190 miles of fiber in our Yeddo and Wea build areas, bringing service to over 1,450 homes. As of mid-March, construction is underway in our Roberts and Hillsboro builds.
Your home may be near one of our new build areas, but you are wondering why we’re not building to your address at this time. The reason is the grant funding areas must be completed within two years.
Wintek powered by Tipmont has deployed 16 free and unlimited WiFi hotspots to keep you connected.
