Tipmont’s Community Day gifts 51 trees to Lafayette

For our 2018 Community Day, Tipmont donated and planted 51 trees in Lafayette on Erie Avenue between Greenbush Street and 19th Street. Also participating were crews from Mint City Tree and Tree Lafayette volunteers.

The trees planted include:

Broadband announcement

At the January 2018 board meeting, Tipmont REMC’s Board of Directors voted to authorize the design, construction and delivery of fiber optic broadband and related services to the Tipmont membership. The vote was unanimous and follows 18 months of due diligence, including extensive feasibility evaluation and market analysis.

Scot Price completes Certified Loss Control Professional certification

Tipmont REMC operations manager Scot Price has completed an intensive program in electric utility safety and loss control. The Loss Control Internship is a series of workshops offered by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in conjunction with the National Utility Training & Safety Education Association. The program is designed to instruct participants in many areas related to electric utility industry safety.

Tipmont REMC rolling back SmartHub login changes

In mid-January, we implemented a change to the way Tipmont members log in to SmartHub. The change was intended to make the log in process a bit quicker by placing the user name and password fields directly on the website, rather than having to go to a separate screen to log in.
